DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

natural, candid, documentary photography

My clients come to me to capture their special moments for the most important day of their lives.

Whilst you are celebrating, I’ll be working discreetly in the background, capturing every special moment as the day unfolds.

That means capturing people’s emotions, photographing their affection for one another and sharing their story.

From the very beginning of bridal preparations to the boogieing on the dance floor, I’ll be taking natural, candid photographs of your loved onces as they celebrate your special wedding day with you.

My aim is to create beautiful photographs that capture the essence of your wedding day.

Below is a small selection of photographs that shows my style – if these images evoke emotions within you, then you’ve found your wedding photographer.

Steph & Simon

Simon and I always wanted to have a natural, documentary style photographer for our wedding as we didn’t want too many posed photographs. David delivered the perfect balance of being there for our special moments whilst being discreet. Reviewing our wedding album brings smiles to our faces every time as we are transported back to what we felt on our wedding day. Thank you David.

Loni & Theo

David recently took a series of photos of us to celebrate our engagement. He visited us at our home and was extremely good at putting us at ease and directing us. We are extremely pleased with the results and would thoroughly recommend him to anyone thinking of getting some portrait photos done.

Why choose me as your Wedding Photographer?

Long after you’ve walked down the aisle, the guests have quaffed the champagne and canapés, and danced until your feet hurt, your wedding photographs will be the lasting memories from your wedding day that you can keep and treasure.

From all the weddings and events I’ve been asked to photograph in my natural, documentary style, I understand how to capture those pure, genuine emotions. I’m the storyteller of your wedding day and each couple’s story is different in their own special way. My aim is to tell your story in the photographs and provide that legacy to your family.

Whilst my wedding photography style is natural and documentary, I am more than happy to photograph posed and group family portraits. I’ll work with you before the wedding to help you fit these photographs around your wedding, so you can get back to spending time with your friends and family. I want you to be comfortable on your wedding day, enjoying all the moments with your loved ones. I will be working around you.

Bespoke service as your Wedding Photographer

Why hire a specialist wedding photographer over a kind friend with camera? A friend with a camera – is just that – they are not necessarily a photographer who understands how and when to document your special wedding moments. Documentary wedding photography doesn’t mean taking “snaps” of the day – it requires skill, sensitivity and judgement by providing context and narrative to the photographs.

As your wedding is a bespoke event for you and your partner, varying in location and duration, I will gladly put together a quote for you. As a guide, my professional fees are determined by my time at the wedding and start at £1,295 inclusive of VAT, and includes hand finished, retouched images for you to download and share. You can always add bespoke luxury albums, prints and other items at a later date –  this is something I’d be more than happy to help you with.

BESPOKE LUXURY ALBUMS

I offer bespoke, luxury, handmade wedding albums. These stunning albums are beautifully printed on fine art quality paper from some of the best print companies in the world. Access to these print companies is strictly limited to professional photographers – this is not something you will find on the high street.
I will design your wedding album to create an everlasting memory of your wedding day.
What's a pre-wedding consultation?
It’s our chance to meet or speak via telephone to discuss your plans for the big day. It’s a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to understand any special requirements you may have.
Do you take credit cards?

I accept all major Credit and Debit Cards or payment via Bank Transfer.

Do you offer an engagement / pre-wedding shoot?

Yes I do!

Whilst I’m a natural, documentary wedding photographer, I’m trained in portraiture and I’ve been recommended for putting clients at ease in front of the camera. An engagement shoot is a great way of us meeting and getting to know each other before the big day. It’s also the perfect opportunity for you to use the photographs on your wedding website, save the date cards and signing books – not to mention special gifts for the family.

Do you offer video services?
No I don’t. Videography, like photography, is a specialist skill and I’d be happy to recommend some videographers I’ve worked with. Be cautious of suppliers who offer both photography and videography – they may be jack of all trades, master of none!
