I had the pleasure of providing event photography at BAFTA 195 for tve’s Global Sustainability Film Awards 2016. Tve is a not-for-profit which works with filmmakers and partners worldwide to make and distribute films that put the environment and sustainability on the global agenda. I was there to photograph the moments, the awards being handed out to filmmakers, the dinner and charity auction.

BAFTA 195 is a stunning space to host your event as well as being the home of British Academy of Film and Television Arts. It contains so many film photographs and memorabilia around the venue that you could spend hours just wandering around.

The Princess Anne Theatre, where the awards were held, was opened to BAFTA members in December 1975 with a private screening of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws. The following year, Stanley Kubrick premiered One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, with a Q&A from Jack Nicholson and producer Michael Douglas. Carrying out my event photography at BAFTA 195 on the same stage as those great names was quite an honour.

TVE, Global Sustainability Film Awards 2016

David is an absolute pleasure to work with and an excellent photographer. He was contracted to photograph an evening awards event and meal at BAFTA. He perfectly captured the range and atmosphere of the varying events over the evening with a complimentary tone and style that now stands as an excellent showcase for the evening
